At the bodyshop Waynes starts with the kit and prep work as and when he gets a break from other jobs ..

He rips my spats off

They started to rub down to smooth out some of the metal work .. and discovered this!

This car has been resprayed a zillion times (technical count there) - I think they hoped this would have been taken back to metal before the orange went on (even though it was an outside only job) There were so many stone chips and door dings and places where the density was just completely uneven that they made the decision to take it back to metal so their own work wouldn't be compromised.

The creation of Sachi was busy having new piston rings, bearings, water pump, oil pump, gaskets, the engine itself had been hot chemically cleaned including the cylinder head. The cylinder head and block was skimmed. The valves and pistons were fine but obviously what was needed was done to clean them up and resit them properly. The crankshaft was cleaned and checked and ok'd and despite their looks the cleaned cams proved to be fine too.
The turbos had been sent off for refurb and hybriding and they proved to have an 'on it's last legs' (polite version) centre carcass.
The polishers were taking their time with my shiny bits .. but we chased .. and chased..
We still had hoses to sort.. incase you hadn't guessed I wanted purple .. but it had to be the right shade of purple for me and that was proving tricky and expensive.

Leon painted my block .. he thinks its purple.. and it does look more purple in these pics than it does in real life .. and he wasn't over amused when I went strolling into the workshop and saw the engine on a stand and said ' OMG, who is having a PINK engine and whyyyyy?' I have come round to this a little but I am slightly relieved you wont be able to see very much of it at all once it's all back together [/COLOR]
