2007 was the Chinese Year of the Chicken and a bird flu pandemic devastated parts of Asia.

2008 was the Chinese Year of the Horse and equine influenza decimated horse racing in the southern hemisphere.

2009 is the Chinese Year of the Pig and we have swine flu.

Anyway, fellas, a word of warning - 2010 is the Chinese Year of the Coc.k
