red tinted rear lights,
red tinted rear lights,
has any one ever tinted there lights all red on the is200 if so can you please post a pic so i can see as this is a idea of mine as hate the chrome inside but dont really want to have to cut the rear lights apart to tint them if i can go down another route
If you want to tint them then you could look into covering them in a perforated vinyl covering called 'fly-eye' it's a black vinyl with loads of little holes in, which from a distance gives the appearance of a tinted light (and will still pass an MOT IIRC)
seen that and looks awsome from a distance but when up close i dont like it i have used the red tint spray when i had my old mondeo st220 and it was ok, just wondered if any one had any pics of it on a is200
I would also recommend FlyEyes, and they do it in 6 shades of red too.
I was not sure about it at first (up close that is, it's always looked good from a distance) but it has grown on me now, and looks far better than without, from any distance. Also 100% legal, where some tint sprays are not, though depends how much you use of course! (I have black on black.)

Tango Had 'red-outs' on my IS250 SE-L for the first three years of its life, then Lexus declared it an MOT failure. Fortunately they were just vinyl overlays so quickly peeled off to pass the test. My personal opinion after trying it is that the fly-eye mod is a bit 'Barry Boy', but others obviously disagree.
Lexuspat I use flyeye on my front fogs and I like how easy it is to fit it does grow on you after time and its really cheap which is a plus

Quote:It's hard for mods not to look a bit Barry Boy when it's on an ISF! Most people keep them fairly stock! :lol;

ok guys thanks for you help, looks like iwill bite the bullet and try it, worse case just remove it off with tar and glue remover, think as long as the reflecter is visable and can still see orange for indecators and white for reverse i will be ok ie mot time
