So I'm looking at LS430's for the family runabout, but I'm a bit confused about what changed between the years.

From what I read, the facelift model was introduced in 2003/2004 and with it came a 6 speed gearbox and a few other extras?

However, I'm looking at an advert for a 2002 model which appears to have the facelift front-end and the ad mentions it having a 6-speed box??? The wheels are the older, less attractive ones and also there's no wood around the gearbox console area which you seem to get on '04s?

Any ideas?

Forget I said anything. I've had a proper hard look at the pictures and the 2002 I'm looking at doesn't have the face-lift front-end. In fact, everything the guy says in the advert pretty much seems to be a lie.

Aye there is light at the end of the tunnel tho. I've found a 2004 in the colour I want, just with a cream interior which I'm not too keen on.

They say it has FSH with Lexus but they haven't got the log book yet? Obviously when it does come I'd be ringing all the dealerships to make sure the stamps are legit.

I just wanna get back into a car again - and everyone needs to buy my IS300 bits so I can afford it! :p

Jim the LS is a great car your family will love all the toys and comfort that this car provides.

I really missed my one but could not warrent driving two 4 litre cars around.
You should also find the up grade of a rear ice system in the up dated version.

Thx dude. What is your general opinion of the amount of space (width-wise) in the back seats of the LS compared to an IS?

I know there's obviously a fair bit more leg room, but how about bum room?

Jim there is lots more room in the Ls
The car does wallow in corners but that is the only down side.
You could change to coilover to sort this though.
The beige and ivory leather is better to live with if it has been looked after as it makes the car feel like it has more room inside....

OK so I've got a bit of a conundrum

Car #1
- 2002 model so lacking a few features and not as nice outside
- 77k on clock
- Full lex service history from new. Owned by 1 Old man.
- 80k service needs doing, but I think thats small as the 100k is the cambelt one?
- Playstation + 2 headrest screens in the back for the kids
- 'excellent condition'

Car #2
- 2004 fully spec'd model
- 114k on clock
- Mostly Lex service history. Awaiting books.
- Service done 1k ago, at 114k SHOULD have had cambelt done - but need to confirm
- No playstation (lol)
- also excellent condition

Car 1 is £1250 cheaper than Car 2. Possibly £1k cheaper if I can wangle the cost of Car2 down a bit.

Thoughts?

Pay the extra, get the spec. Add a PS2 if you like, they are £30 these days.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:
