yh im ok, just peed off,

basically the other car had all the space needed, but still managed to hit my car and now is blaming me for hitting him, even though i was stopped, i think he did it on purpose to make a claim and now its going to hit my insurance hard

That's a real bummer. It probably will affect your insurance even though it was not your fault, unfortunately :crying:

Did you get any witnesses ?

At least you're ok though. How is the car ?

the car looks better then the lexus did lol

front bumper, driver side wing, wheel allignment gone, insurance have already said it would be my fault, if no witnesses, need to speak to some of them, got they details at the scene just names and numbers, need to ring them and see if they willing to provide a witness statement.

things just go from bad to worse, i was on my way to asda to drop the job application form off

Do you think the witnesses will back you up ok, i.e. they will have seen it was the other driver's fault ?

i hope so, really do, just also realised that i had third party cover not comprehensive, probally thought at the time that the astra is not worth fully comp.

but not sure what it means, if witnesses dont back me up, and fault is mine, what would happen just a claim in my name, also confirmed no excess at all? so i can just get my car repaired myself and done? just insurance premium goes up, but if i get the witnesses, what would that mean in regards to the premium? any advice?

If it's third party then that just means damage to your own car isn't covered on the insurance. So if it was decided it was your fault, the insurance would pay for damage to the other driver's car but not to yours, you'd have to pay for that yourself.

If they decide it wasn't your fault, then his insurance should cover the damage to your car.

If you make a claim on your own insurance (i.e your fault) then your premium will go up. Even if you aren't deemed to be at fault, unfortunately they'll probably put your premium anyway (though maybe not by so much ?) if they think it means you are in an area or similar that is more prone to accidents ?

You really need to get some witnesses that back up that it was totally the other driver's fault, basically. More than one would be good.

yh thanks for the advice, im going to speak to them and see what they say, if they stories are partially, then i might not bothered, take this on the chin (im repeating myself from last year lol) and just tell the insurance how it is and leave them to decide.

my feeling is, even if the witnesses say it was not my fault, insurance would still say its my fault.

oh sorry lol just realised i havent said what happened lol

basically im approaching a roundabout, this roundabout there is no right.

As I approach, a large vehicle was coming from the left to my right, so I stopped, as he turned, i went slightly on to the roundabout, i was no more then 1/4 in, when the view ahead was clear and saw a vehicle approaching the roundabout with his right indicator on. i stopped immediatly to give him way. but instead of turning to his right as indicating, he decided to go straight into me, which i cant get, as he had enough space to turn.

insurance have said basically cause i was on the roundabout, and he wanted to turn right, then its his right of way and its my fault, even though i had stopped less then 1/4 in and he had enough space. this is way i think he did it on purpose and knew i would be at fault

what you guys think? no doubt it will do down as my fault, even if the witnesses say i was stopped they would say i was on the roundabout
