Not a problem mate,

bit poorly with the whining turbo, and using antilag is certainly a no no with it whining.

but once i get the single on it'll be even more awesome.

As for instant boost changing gear;
yeah when you change gear you pretty much do have instant boost cause the turbos still spinning from the last gear.

thats why you have a dump valve, because if you dont when you let off the throttle to change gear the turbo is still spinning, the cold side still sucking air in, but its got nowhere to go cause the throttle is shut. sp it builds up till it only has one way to go - back out the turbo. this causes the turbo to stall cause it needs to spin the other way to let the air out. so obviously thats not good at all for it, and its even worse for the hot side (exhaust side) cause that could then suck exhaust gas back into the engine, that fills up and trys to stall it again.

A dump valve allows the air on the cold side to escape somewhere else rather than back through the turbo. keeping the turbo spinning the right way ready for you to open the throttle again and suck more air in.

hope ive explained that ok.

Marsdendean That has explained every 100%. So is the turbo whining because its been driven to hard, or cant the turbo keep up with the preformance side?

cant really keep up.

basically its the bearing thats whining. its just old and knackered.
Thats why when buying a new turbo a ball bearing turbo is highly recommended.

older turbos (and new cheap ones) use journal bearings and a thrust bearing.
basically a journal bearing is just a collor lubricated by a thin layer of oil. with a thrust bearing on the side. It'll be the thrust bearing thats whining on mine i assume.

whereas a ball bearing turbo is more modern better design and quicker spool

Nice car mate, I bet its a right weapon now. Just a quick question, I saw you going through Lancaster a few weeks ago (it's where I saw the web address for here lol) and I noticed your inner brake lights flash for a few seconds and then stay constant, how did you do it?

Cheers, I'm guessing I'd need 2 of these units then?

Depends how you wire it.

The middle lights arent meant to be brake lights on the IS (just fog lights as standard), so when i changed them i just tapped off one light and split the feed to both Fogs.
That way i only needed one.

But if your doing it on your normal brake lights then yes you'll need two. and i'd suggest using the single circuit ones over the duals.
