Been major busy at work so not had the time to check up on the car but I got in touch with Matt@TRL today and got this message.

Matt@TRL Hi Anees

Well things are moving on Confusedmthumbup

I have built the link harness and installed the Syvecs the car is now running on it. I hope to be doing some mapping today :coolsm:

Carbonitis i think you have

Cya Thursday

Matt

I am popping down on Thursday after work to have a chat and see how they are getting on. Gord said he might join me too since he is not working that day Big Grin

Since the car is now using an aftermarket ECU, the stock MAF sensor is not needed so I have asked for the 3" MAF induction kit to be removed and replaced with a massive 4" kit with the biggest K'N filter possible. Wink

I was also worried about the MAF beginning to break apart at this power level, so now its gone that is one less thing to worry about.

Looks to be coming along well mate. Would be good to see you at JAE, with or without the BEAST!

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

Sorry for not updating this thread........

I got the call on Monday to say that the Evo was DONE................ Big Grin

I bought a house back in May and having the garage re-done so with skips on the drive so can't actually pick it up yet because I have nowhere to park it safely.

I rang Matt@TRL to explain and he was happy to keep it for me while the building work is taking place (should be another week or two).

I am not letting myself get excited because otherwise I will work myself up and want to go get it. I have waited so long so may as well wait a few weeks longer. Also the weather is pretty poor now so I am not in a desperate rush (as odd as it may sound!)

I rang Matt@TRL explain and he seemed very pleased with the car. Afterall he has not been rushed with it at all and I told him I only wanted it back until he was 100% happy to give it me back which was rather nice and strange for him.

Matt said the car doesn't quite have the top end of other cars he has done with a similar spec but because he wants to give the 6 speed gearbox a fighting chance (until I get get a strengthened alternative made) he has not pushed it to the max.

He said at 1.9 - 2.0bar it is making 535bhp and around 480ft/lbs torque. Once I strengthen the gearbox and AYC diff then we can push it further if I feel the need. A similar car Matt did (with a stronger 5 speed box and RS diff) did 600bhp and 560ft/lbs torque so I am not pushing the turbo and engine too much at the moment; there is more if I want it.

The main thing I stressed from the very beginning of this project is a NICE ROAD CAR with RESPONSE and Matt says that the response is "awesome" with "no surge, just spools and goes...even in 6th gear the car just spools and goes and is beautiful to drive with a nice long powerband with the rev limit set to a sensible 8kprm."

Actually just typing this has got me excited again........lol.

I know this thread has been lacking in pictures so when I go to collect it I will put this right.

Thanks
Anees

Incredible what these engines can produce, I would think 535bhp and around 480ft/lbs torque would be enough to be getting on with:w00t:

LOL!!! I am sure it will be quite enough!! :w00t::w00t:

You can actaully get stupid power out of these 4 cylinder engines; some of Matts customers are running 700 - 800bhp cars but at the cost of drivabiliy (in my opinion) and WTF are you gonna drive it??? Wink

Gord You can leave the BMW on my drive if you want mate, then you can take you evo home Big GriniscoStu:

Cheers Gord  but BMW is going to be up for sale very shortly as soon as private plate is taken off so I need it nearby for viewings and stuff.... After 6 years of awesome "have your cake and eat it" motoring, I fancy a change.........
