IS220 Wheel Size
IS220 Wheel Size
I am going to buy a set of IS-F 19" alloys & was wondering if they will fit straight on & not rub on the arches? I'm not bothered if I need to do some messing about to get them on & also what size rubber will I need to help avoid rubbing. I've spoken to Lexus & they said 225/40/19 Front & 255/35/19 rear. Again if they fit straight on, happy days. Well not happy for my bank balance obviously!

They should fit without a problem. I know they do not fit on an IS350 because they rub on the calipers, but the puny IS220 brake calipers are not so wide so should be OK.
But the IS350 is a totally different car. I'm more thinking of the arches & arch lining rubbing on full lock rather than the calipers as the IS-F will have way bigger brakes than mine & they are designed to fit over those. I surely can't be the first person to have done this.
The IS220, i've just realised I didn't mention it in the main body of text but it is the title of the thread. I'm reckoning they won't be much bigger as the fronts on mine are 225 wide 17's & rears are 245. I'm just a bit concerned about rubbing at full lock.
I had 19" rims on my IS250 that were a lot wider than the IS-F rims. They were fitted with 235 front and 275 rears and had no rubbing at all.
The IS350 has slightly different front hubs, but the bodywork is identical to the IS250/220D. I had my 250 and IS-F but didn't try to swop the wheels as I had IS350 brake calipers on the front of the 250 and already knew the IS-F rims wouldn't fit.
However, several people in the USA have put IS-F rims on their IS250 and only one to my knowledge has had slight rubbing on the plastic liner on one side only. This could be due to his liner being ill fitting, but can easily be rectfied with a hot air gun. The majority of people have had no rubbing issues.
Just my opinion, but if you haven't lowered the car, you need to be thinking of it, or it just isn't going to look right.
Here's a pic of a 250 on IS-F wheels, click to enlarge (it has been lowered)
I've got the IS-F 19's on now with 255/35/19 rear & 225/35/19 front & they look amazing. Good size so as to not overpower the car. It does however sit a little high, I've been looking at a 30mm drop using Eibach springs. I was wondering how far you dropped yours Tango? Looks really good & is the same colour as mine too.
