Id be at max 1.2 bar with the ct20b..is the meth 100% safe? only a few hundred quid..and if it does what it says on the tin, fantastic!

30-12-2018, 07:23 AM #14i don't know a thing about methanol injection..is it just a case of getting the kit, get it properly installed..then headache free motoring? or can it cause issues that otherwise wouldn't have occured?

Lol hmm..sails could be a good option..but got to hope and pray that the wind is blowing in the right direction..
I'm hoping i can run low 13 seconds, don't know if that's a realistic figure with the mods im planning

30-12-2018, 07:28 AM #16If it runs out of meth or water and your tuned to the limit and continue driving at the limit then you will have a problem. You would be pretty silly to do that.

Meth and water injection have bottles you have to refill from time to time but the kits usually have a warning LED to tell you when the level is getting low. So almost fit and forget!
You don't want to run a ct20b at 1.2 bar unless you like replacing pistons. 1.15 should be the absolute limit and only with GOOD supporting cooling (no eBay intercoolers).

If you run it like Jim ran it on his IS as just an added extra, it helps protect the engine but isn't reliant on it.
If its built into your map like I want mine to be you'll need something to tell you when theres no flow. I've got a snow performance bit of kit that sends a 12v signal to the ecu when it doesn't detect flow (pump break, blockage, or you just run out of water). That will be tied to the map to cut things back if it happens to save the engine.

31-12-2018, 03:19 AM #20I was looking at the snow kits actually..however i spoke to luke@ pacific works yesterday, he reckons i could spend my money in better ways. He said it can sap power, only really beneficial for highly tuned engines in the hot weather. i dont have a clue about it so i can only go by what others advise
