Rather than start 3 seperate threads i thought i would just do one with all my questions....
They might seem obvious but just want clarification really

1, when i start my car in the morning i get a puff of blue smoke from the exhaust, in my previous experience this is the start of the valve stem seals going but wanted someone who knew more to clarify. Only engine mod is a cat back exhaust.

2, when the car is cold and i pull away it judders unless i rev it above 3k rpm guessing its the flywheel thats the issue but is this a known fault or anything anyone has had experience of?

3, i did have another question but mind has gone blank right this second so will add it later

have you checked the coils? it could be a coil pack or 2 on its/their way to failing completely, also check the spark plugs too when were they last changed?

Service history is upto date but its on 108k now so could be worth a look at the plugs will pull one to see what its like.
If it were a coil pack wouldnt i get a misfire at higher rpm?

quite probably possible but if its intermitent it could be hit and miss, try resetting the ecu by pulling the neg off the battery or the pull the fuses and give it a reset, do the easiest things first

My car judders when I pull off first time in the morning its seems to happen when its cold

The clutch juddering is quite a common issue, and IIRC it's because the springs are starting to wear out in the dual mass flywheel so the outer section of the flywheel is sort of bouncing back and forth trying to play catch up with the inner section. That can be fixed either by getting it welded solid, or replacing with a solid flywheel. (not many people bother fitting a new dual mass one as they are expensive, and it could happen again)

Thats clarified what i thoughy, not worth doing as im swapping the engine soon but at least u know what it is :-)

Finally remembered the last questiob, i just got an engine stand to rebuild my v8 and it may sound stupid but how do i attach the engine to the stand??? Lol

In theory, using the bolts that the gearbox bellhousing attaches to the block with. In practice these may not be long enough, as the holes in the engine stand are probably thicker than the holes in the bellhousing.

I bought 4 100mm high tensile bolts for mine in the end. It was a right pain in the **** finding some fine pitched bolts (Toyota love using 1.25 thread pitch on HUGE bolts) that were long enough, think I got them from http://www.namrick.co.uk in the end.

Brilliant i will just do that i think as i got mine without a gearbox so dont have those bolts

Do you remember which size the were? M12 etc
