my st205 gtfour
my st205 gtfour
as it says on the tin, thought it might be interesting to see how some of the cars have come on from the moment you bought them to the present moment..
well i got the celica 7 years ago on my 19/20th birthday and its been a great 7 years so far!
how it started, the next day... down the road for the very first photo in my ownership..
however as much as i thought i could resist the temptation was too much and the modifying began...
first off, a Blitz Nur Spec-R exhaust system
not the best vid but hell, you get the idea and much better, the car sounds like it went now!!
then time for some more photos!
rally for the win!
the engine standard.... pah, that cant be like that! but for now... it stayed that way, just a browning radiator was replaced for new.
the modifying carried on though
a 3" bore Aussie front pipes
then some more photos and drags occured... we have lost the videos but my friends skyline.... loses. lol
then alconbury runway happend...
however i then wanted more power!
the next step was for me to install my apexi power intake that i purchased..
removal of old intake box
then start fitting the new
but with that induction there and a nice big bonnet vent what could i do next to let hot air out... ahh thats it, rid of this crappy horrid noise reduction ****!!
now that is more like it!!! i can see the light!
engine shot.. its getting there.ish
but in the quest for more power my next step was a Blitz DSBC ... where to fit it, well there was only one place i wanted it..
the car was then dynod and in Banzai magazine rolling road feature..
304bhp @ 1bar.... not enough , after 4 runs consisting of 2 @ 301 and 301.9 the last 2 were 303 and 303.7, however to my annoyance and the rolling road operator the car could do far more, only running 1 bar and a AFR showed around a nigh on 10:1 fuel ratio!
but in saying that, 304 wasnt a bad result and for money spent it was ok, and in all honesty, ****** quick!
then my first stint at donington park occured.... this was where i realised just how wrong i was about my car "only" having 304bhp...
the gt4 proved to me just how quick it was.. by decimating an BMW M3 down the pit straight, much to the annoyance of the other driver.
being chased by an Audi RS4
the bug soon recomenced though and i purchased this....
an Aussie 3" ceramic downpipe
and the dismantaling happend
turbo was in good nick, no play
new aussie on
back together
however the engine needed tyding up for me, so i took the heatshield off..
and not a bad job i dont think after a couple of coats
all nice
then the Toyota Sprint Series happend
so the next mission was clear, the car would be used on track.... alot in the future,in this case it would be ran at 1.2 bar all day long... and the charge cooler setup was ditched due to the prolonged boost... a fmic conversion was needed.
the mission was to make a fmic that retained the fog lights, the power steering cooler and transmission coolers in their oem places and retain a totally factory standard look and a fmic that i dont beleive any other st205 in britain has acheived with this sized ic.
the work commenced...
my poor car!!
after 8 weeks my new Forge motorsport, 780mm x 320mm x 80mm
it was then finshed..
and the rest is history.. multiple track days have ensued, the nurburg has past and more trackdays ensued..
2 of me on the nurburg..
the new wheels in the snow..
then an old one of mine and my brothers cars together... i call them the twins now as mine too has the WRC raiser blocks..
my brothers is at the front, mine at the back, bar the spoiler... pretty much twins.
and of course adams being fully forged with a garrett 3071r
mine...
and my brother identical one bar the silver blocks
and i had to take this in tescos car park, come out and supra there... have to say, the gtfour wins the BGW competion by a inch or so. haha
but i love the wings and they look cool, what a pair of cars but hands down, for me, the gtfour wins everytime. nice though, looked well cool
just a few small low res pics untill i get the full disc of back in Feb at Snetterton 300 track
and the new change to the car... as you all have seen the new exhaust mid pipes built by the man himself... Tim
and my reasoning for needing tim to make me the nice new mid pipes.... this is good people and shows the QA and build quality of Aussie exhausts
now the weld patch was where the first holes appeared.... i then welded up that hole and went on the trackday to snetterton and woohoo, my exhaust looked like the above and as though it had been shot with a machine gun!! haha
well had a corking evening racing at Cadwell.
Unfortunately due to a dead bush in my bananna arm i couldnt track my car so my brother was kind enough to let me drive his 400 odd Bhp GTFour too!
but the heavens opened up when it was time to leave but shortly after a stunning sunset appeard under the looming black clouds which was too good to miss out on a photo with my four....
the pictures dont do the set justice at all...
right i got myself another engine a month back so i can do a forged build and have my standard engine too..
but heres some pictures
got the head off
now bores look clean, waterways are tatty though as you can see, corrosion in there so i hope this can be ridded of though.
got the block out the box, amazing how light it is with no head attached
fairly clean in the bores too
but then in number 3 we have 3 score marks, all 3 are felt with nails...
however there is also damage to the head in number 3
right, did some more today, got sump off, pistons and conrods out...
sump off
some small shards in the sump pan
some crappy stuff in the pick up, looks like oil and water mixed
all off
That's a good build thread Dale
Bhp looks good.
As said we have a meet in sleaford nearly every week.
We are also attending the Rising Sun Car Show in May at the lincoln show ground tickets are cheap and should be a good weekend if you want to attend there is a thread on it.
