Anyone with engineering contacts fancy helping out Stav with some machining?
Following on from Stav's thread HERE
I have done him a full set of drawings for the component he needs to be made.
The ideal scenario is that someone on here has access to, or knows someone with access to a 5 axis milling machine which will be able to machine the component from a solid block of aluminium in 1 go. It's a fairly complex design but if it can be done like this it will mean he can just bolt it straight on with no modifications after the machining.
The second option is to use vertical only machining in a 2D format enabling the use of water jet cutting. Although this does limit the amount of material that can be removed, as only the areas of the slots which are shared by both the inlet and outlet side can be cut vertically. And final machining to open up the individual slots will need to be done by hand/another machine.
But any of you who have access to milling or water cutting machines or know people who could do it, please just take a minute to read the thread Stav started so you know what we're trying to do, and hopefully the drawings I've posted above should make sense.
My explanation may not have made it totally clear, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I'll answer as best I can.
I can't thank sprinter enough for the work he's done so far to help.
Just need to get it made now!
What quote mate? I never received anything
Hurricane I've not heard anything back r.e the quote I sent you. I had assumed the lead time was too long, so you couldn't wait. If you still need it I'm still capable of doing it for you
