Who made the "Aero" wheels?
Who made the "Aero" wheels?
As the title says really.
I bought some aero's on Ebay last week and when I got the tyres removed and had a good look at them I saw that they have the word "Lexus" cast into them, But stickers that were covered when the tyres were fitted say "Made in England" on them.
I know most car makers have there wheels made by mainstream aftermarket wheel manufacturers, So I'm just wondering if anyone knows who made the IS200's aero's for Lexus?

Yeah, I understand that they were made FOR Lexus, But I'm guessing they were made by someone like Wolfrace (Like Ford used for the XR2/2.8 Capri "Pepper pot's" AKA "Wolfrace Sonics") or Rimstock who make OEM wheels for dozens of different car makers.
I'm just curious as to who made the IS200's Aero's because different wheel manufacturers all seem to have different ideas with regards to what makes a good wheel (ie, TSW tend to make strong wheels that weigh a ton and Wolfrace seems to go for style over thw whole "strength vs weight" thing). I also just find it slightly odd that a Japanese car maker uses British wheels in an upgrade pack.
On the other hand, Was it only the UK cars that were offered with the "Aero pack" option?

I feel we're going around in circles here.
I know they're made in England, And I know they're made FOR Lexus....... But WHO made them?
I'm getting slightly intrigued now. On the MX5OC or Capri Club (If it was an MX5 or Capri related question) I would have had 5 or 6 replies by now telling me every conceivable detail about where, When and how the wheels were made. Most car clubs have at least 1 of the strange walking/talking encyclopedia members who can quote the size and tensile strength of every bolt in their engine bay with 100% accuracy, Or can tell you the full names of everyone in the team that designed their cars window actuator mechanisms....... :tongue_smilie:
Have I stumbled on a possible downside with being in a non model specific car club?
Or is it that everybody's too busy having a life to get bogged down with unimportant details?

Or maybe the questions never been asked before and no one knows?
Someone'll know. There's always at least one person who's posted the answers before anyone else has had chance to open a Google page (Back in my Capri days I was one of them! :biggrin
I'm sure that if this topic remains unlocked for long enough, someone's going to drop by who has the answer...... And who knows, That knowledge might in some way be useful to others on here.
