Well today was a day of ups and downs!

Yesterday I got the missus to help and put the bonnet back on then refitted the front bumper etc, looks like a finished car at last.

Firstly my mate came round to spray a couple of his engine bits up so he helped me bleed the clutch brakes at last.
I also finally filled the gearbox with oil, hate that job!

Then was the massive up, she moved under her own power! I drove her down the drive and turned her around. Was such a good feeling!

However, I knew I had a leak on the new power steering pipe, but I also didn't realise the power steering tank has a pressure release cap, when my new fashioned one doesn't, so half back down the drive my power steering pump basically disembowelled itself and left fluid right do the drive.
The missus understandably wasn't impressed but hey ho.

So I spent tonight changing the power steering pump (I have a couple spare) and for now I'll leave the cap off the reservoir till I can find a suitable relief valve.

I also changed the rad as that had a small weep, but I had a spare one as well so that was pretty simple.

Also seen as the cars all loaded up, engine in, and back on the floor; I had a look at the back wheels and to me it's too low at the back so I need to raise it up. Bit I have no c scanners so bought a set on eBay and will adjust it when they come.

Any way some pics:

The masking tape is where I want to fit the bonnet vent, I have a spare bonnet to do this to just wanted the location, just above the turbo to remove heat, will post more pics of that later.

Also mapping is confirmed for Saturday, painting is also planned in, just need insurance now.

Well the car is now insured got it though A-plan in the end. Was a good price.

However the week hasnt gone smoothly. Firstly once the engine and everything was fitted the car sat too low and part of the arch was scraping the tyres.

Not a problem I thought I can just lift the Coilovers, bought some c scanners on eBay but the rings wouldn't move! Had the shock off the car so could get better grip but still nothing!
However I could do something about the scraping so got the cutting disk out and whipped a bit more off the inner arch.

On Thursday I carefully took the car for painting as it as so low but needed painting however i still managed to crack the ****** arch!
So my mates coming round week after next to help me refill it all properly and then spray the arches. So for now I've rattle canned them so they don't stand out as much.
They look awful on inspection, but at a glance hardly noticeable.

Really needed the suspension higher though for the mapping as it was I drivable that low! So took both rear shocks off Thursday night and stripped them down so it's just the adaptor rings and baseplate. Then took them to my mates dads garage today and thankfully they managed to free them off with brute force.

So put them back on tonight raised up about 2-3 cm and they could maybe do with coming down a cm but no scraping at all at the back now so ready for mapping in the morning.

Here's some pics:

New arch gap and bad painting

It's took me a while over the last few weeks to get through your thread, I knew you'd done an amazing amount of work and was more than very impressed when I met you, but didn't quite fully appreciate just how much has actually gone into getting it this far.

Good luck with the mapping tomorrow mate, can't wait to see her move
