Well today's been a nightmare!

Got up this morning all ready to get the car mapped

Went and got petrol and the car was fine except for a bad idle (kept hunting). Then on the way back it started wanting to die on idle, but I thought that could be part of the old map so no problem.

However the throttle was really odd, either on or off, no sort of control. So tested the throttle body motor and found one of the circuits had failed so had to quickly resolder the throttle circuit.

Then noticed I had a fuel leak so had to tighten up a few fittings on the tank sensor.

All this before 9am!

Then the mapper turned up, really nice guy called Andrew Carr. He attached everything up but then it just went downhill!

First the battery is dying so had to jump start it.
Then the wideband sensor stopped working!
Then the idle was terrible, barely any vacuum either. So had a look at the plugs and they were black! So changed them over but still no better!
Had a good nosey round checking all sort of pipes but couldn't find anything, so then checked the cam belt, but had to remove the cover, whilst doing that I moved the water pipe and it ****ing snapped the port on the top of the radiator! Fuming!

So that meant mapping was completely out of the question without a working rad, and the cam belt was fine!

So the jobs for today now are:

Order a new radiator ASAP
Check all the pipework for leaks
Remove all the igniters and test them on the bench
Check al the plugs again
Check all the wiring for the igniters is still ok.

Pretty fuming though as was going to take the car to somerset with me this week.

Gutted mate, but I believe you will have it soon working fine! It might be a good chance to get a racing radiator, mishimoto or koyo maybe?

Can't see the point in the alloy rad to be honest 2/3 as much and can't really see a gain apart from durability.

Bought a standard large core one now.

I have not done a lot of research but they point out that they are more efficient than oem and also lighter!

Yeah they prob are lighter to be honest. But I've no issues with cooling so don't need a more efficient one, and not too fussed about weight to be honest.

You are probably ok then with OEM mate

Sorry to hear the bad news, hope it's just simple fixes and nothing too complicated that needs doing.

These things are sent to try us mate but it's best to get all the bugs out now rather than it happen on route anywhere or miles from home etc

Just annoys me lol.

Well I've checked all the coil packs and their fine, so are all my spare ones which surprised me as I would have thought one would be goosed.

Gonna do a compression check to be sure but dont think it's mechanical, think its electrical as it came on all of a sudden with no pop bang or crash like a mechanical problem normally does.
