Project: DIY Supercharger
sprinter2012 I was going to go down the induction kit route until I saw the video posted up last week which basically said cone filters make no difference to all but the highest powered cars. And I'm trying to keep it all stealthy so the TTE airbox is perfect Probably going to get the intercooler painted black so the car doesn't look charged from the outside.

Is it a lot louder mate?im thinking of doing it on mine but may be too loud!
speedfreek Oh dude... are you actually basing your decision from a mighty car mods video?! Hardly a scientific tests in road conditions.
Just fit the induction kit and show everyone that you are a real man

sprinter2012 It's heat reflective aluminium tape for wrapping airboxes and air ducts etc. to help prevent heat soak. I've already done the underside of my OEM airbox and scoop with it. Actually reduced the temperature of the top side of the airbox and scoop by quite a lot as the heat doesn't get absorbed by the bottom now.

The next piece of the puzzle arrived today, I must say a big thanks to Rob who has provided me with his broken supercharger just for the cost of postage!
So I can now begin the process of drawing up the inlet/outlet manifold flanges and working out how to actually mount it to my engine.
It won't be a quick process, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually

Well this isn't really an update, more just a few of my thoughts...
The plan is now to just go straight for a 145mm pulley, rather than the stock 130mm one.
This means that in combination with a set of 1ZZ injectors, I can bump the power up to about 230-240 at the flywheel just using the standard TTE blackbox.
I'll be getting the pulley and intercooler anodised black to be in keeping with my stealth look too.
I'm also making progress on the cradle front, but I won't say anymore on that until I'm sure as I don't want people to get excited too soon. lol
