Ok, so there are lots of threads with information about the is200 fog to brake light conversion but I don't think they are a lot of help to me.
As my car is a Jap import I don't think it needed fog lights so the default function of my bootlid lights are side and brake lights.
When I bought the car it had one light that functioned as a fog.

I had a root round in my bootlid recently and noticed the wiring running into the fogs was particularly badly bodged so for the time being I reverted the wiring to stock.

I'm now looking the get the fog function back on the rear lights in addition to having the side and brake function when the fogs are not turned on.
Is this possible and can someone with a more electrical inclination give me an idea how I might achieve this?

Right to be clear your boot lid lights light up when you lights are on, and get brighter when you brake?
Plus one works as a fog light as well?

Or just add diodes as per the Lexus conversion to keep both?

It's a dual filament bulb holder which currently only works as side light (dull when lights are on) and brake light (gets brighter when brake pressed). I ditched the fog wiring because I didn't trust it.
