Nissan Sunny ZX Coupe
Nissan Sunny ZX Coupe
I bought this today
It's a 1988 Sunny ZX Coupe with 59,000 miles on the clock. It has the quite rare CA16DE engine (a 1.6 NA version of the 180SX/S13 engine). The paintwork is amazing for a car its age. It came with a box full of spares, including light clusters, rubber boots for stuff, air filters, fuel filters, bulbs, spark plugs... the list goes on and on. Even the original radio (It has a Pioneer MP3/WMA unit fitted). It has a partial service history (down to old tax discs) and even has the original owners manual and Nissan mats!! It's also cheaper to insure than my 1.1 Fiesta (??) even if I put Emma on it as a learner driver(????).
Needs a few things doing do it to pass its MOT:
Stud drilling and replacing in exhaust manifold
Both outer CV joints rebuilding (new CV boots included in 'box of bits')
Bulb replacing in rear cluster
Something doing about the full beam switch which is dodgy
I quite like the fact that it's the same age as my girlfriend
Very nice mate!
Nice find John, I do like the early Japs..
I quite like the fact that it's the same age as my girlfriend,,,,So Emma is an "E" reg then
Interesting find, looks in stunning condition and low mileage too - has it just had a few owners or was the last owner an enthusiast?
The last owner bought it in November last year and it failed it's MOT in January and hasn't moved since. I'm the 9th owner, I think owner #7 was the enthusiast. The impression I get is that the guy I bought it from had wanted to do it up and get it roadworthy, but he was selling this and his MR2 as well so I guess he's either about to become a father or was losing his garage...
Forgot to mention, it's also got a new downpipe and a full stainless exhaust that's less than 2 years old!
Lovely car John ... perfect colour choice to park next to Hiccup too
Now thats what you call old skool! Love that shape. Reminds me of when my dad had a sunny! Ours was an E reg 1.6 saloon which we bought brand new but it got stolen in about 1994/6 which was a shame. Nippy cars as well!
