Agreed, it's just people blowing things out of proportion.

this has already been raised on the car club forum and confirmed that mods will not automatically fail an MOT providing they are safe and legal according to the MOT tester. nothing to worry about

At the moment - the European parliament working group looking at this aspect has agreed that at one point in the future all cars will need to be tested to the same standard across Europe - this has been agreed and passed the consultation period is over. What is not clear is what the standard will be or if and when it will be implemented. Worst case every car will have to be tested to type approval spec.

from what i have read the EU wants all member states to have an equal standard of MOT or equivalent but the UK already has a high standard anyway so it wont affect us

If anything Germany control the EU and as I lived there for 6 years no a little bit about there TUV test, with regards Mods each time something is fitted changed I.e uprated brakes it has to have a TUV test you also have to have reciepts for the item and it has to be E approved thos documents then need to be carried in the car at all times so if you are stopped by police they can check the paperwork

to be honest, even if this does happen in the UK, I will simply modify my car illegally. The EU can **** right off if it thinks it can decide what I put on my own car.
