reganlives So once/if the cradles are made and if I got hold of a charger then what about the other bits that are needed? What about pipework etc? Would this need to be custom made?

The pipework would need to be custom made, which you can do yourself with metal pipe and silicone joiners. Or like I plan to do, just get an exhaust builder to make the pipework for you Smile

The flanges would need to be laser/watercut though, or if you buy a charger with the inlet/outlet ports still with it, you can probably modify them to fit your own pipework.

The pipe work for the FMIC is pretty easy and you can get all the pipe work of places like Ebay

You will also need a black box from Patrik

Not quite, for a start it's 135mm not 130mm like the TTE one. And I think it's a different depth than the TTE one, which didn't matter to the guy who used one in his DIY build as he just built the cradle to suit, but you couldn't use a merc pulley with a TTE cradle.

Isn't there some form of throttle spring/wire or something with the original kits? I'm sure I've read that somewhere. Would we not need little things like that?

You mean the bypass valve. And yes the original kits had one, all it does it vent the air pressure when the throttle is closed. But the HKS BOV does exactly the same thing so you don't need the bypass.

It does more than just vent Sprinter, The bypass provides the air feed to the engine below 1/3 throttle. The original TTE kit had it bypassing the compressor, Janspeed improved it by bypassing the intercooler as well and providing the feed right to the throttle body.

You can have the setup without a bypass but it will increase fuel economy as the charger will always be under load.

Yee I've read what the bypass does, and apart from very minimal differences in MPG it has virtually no effect on the setup as a whole. Certainly not worth replicating for an aftermarket kit.

Having the charger itself on a swtich connected to the throttle would save more fuel than a bypass too.
