What wideband gauges does everyone have?

I can't decide which gauge to go for.

I've been looking at the obvious 2, from AEM and Innovate, but ive just come across a gauge from a company called PLX (?), which looks interesting.

It looks like with the gauge/kit you can get from PLX, you can remove your narrowband sensor, replace it with the wideband sensor supplied, wire up the gauge, and use a 0-1v output to wire back to the ECU, thus, acting as the standard narrowband sensor.

Are the other gauges like this? It sounds like an easier option than getting a new bung welded in the exhaust.

What are everyone thoughts?

The LC-1 can do that too (analogue output 0-1v). It has 2 analogue outputs that are user programmable.

PLX are not a no-name brand but they mainly make electronics.

I'd wager that the wideband sensors are all larger than a stock lambda sensor? So you might need to get new bungs welded in anyway.

Edit: I think maybe jimxms used a PLX Wideband in his IS300?

The widebands should screw into the same hole.

i personally have an AEM and i love it. It also has a narrow band output, but unlike the LC1 only has one output so if you also wanted to go to an aftermarket ECU the LC-1 is a better choice.

Thanks guys, i think I'm going to go with my gut feeling and get the AEM - ive heard they are easy to install and use etc (doesn't need recalibrating like the LC-1 does?)

So am I right in thinking, that if I go for the AEM wideband, I can ditch the rear sensor on the IS200, put the wideband sensor in there, and wire the narrowband output to the ECU to stop the ECU from freaking out (obviously I'll have to add the resistors to the heater circuit aswell)??

thats right mate, dont have to resistor the heater, just wire it to another sensor heater

Stav, have you got the AEM 30-4100? I've just been looking at a Spec sheet for one, and it shows it has a 0-5vdc output, not 0-1vdc like others have said the narrowband sensor uses?

If you get the manual for the gauge, there's a rotary switch on the back, you turn that to p4 and it's 0-1v narrow band.

Well, saturday night, sat at home alone, full of flu and I decided to cheer me up, I'll order a gauge.

I decided to go for the AEM Failsafe, as it has AFR and boost all in one, aswell as datalogging etc.

But in the moment of madness, I forgot I wanted one with a 0-1vdc output so I can wire it to my standard ECU, and use the existing hole in the exhaust - to save drilling and welding in a new boss.

So, does anyone know how to convert 0-5vdc to 0-1vdc (wideband to narrowband) or is it going to be a ballache?

jimxms did use the plx for a little while then upgraded to the zeitronix, which now sits in my car, the zt is hooked up via computer and the flip up touchscreen

didnt read the whole thread, wouldnt a resistor decrease the voltage? or could you send it back and swap it?
