I just meant I'd get the 12/24v type LED's as they seem to be more robust when it comes to variable light output.

edit: It's the CREE type ones that seem to need to be connected to 24v to work properly (which is what I was on about earlier) if that's what you were thinking?

Got a link to what your thinking of? As in my mind it wouldn't work.

got it bookmarked on the netbook, will dig it out. The rings run on 12v perfectly well, basically I want to wire up sidelights + fogs as I have done with the skyline mod, so they double in brightness when the brakes are on, only with LED rings instead of bulbs, then a separate lamp for the actual fog light, controlled only by the rear fog switch.

Not sure if I'd need some kind of relay for the LED's though, as I've no idea how they could be wired up to run as dual filament type lights. I know it's possible though, someone in the states has done something very similar.

Are you thinking of the MMSport led conversions I posted up ages ago? They are the best ones I've seen anywhere but you and Toxo didn't think much of the ones I posted. Lol

The MMsport ones don't look quite right, the light units look like 2 separate rings instead of one single (slightly fatter) one. I'll see if I can find the custom one.

MMsport is a similar kind of thing, I just don't like the final look as it isn't quite right. Edit: Plus they don't have an extra fog.

What do you mean they don't have an extra fog? I thought they all came as dual voltage. So can be either side/brake or side/fog?

I mean I want an extra light in the fogs to use as a foglight, then have the rings as bake/tail dual filament style as separate bits. I just don't think a ring of LEDs is an effective light in fog conditions.

well today I decided to take the IS200 out for a drive, since I havent been out in it for a few weeks

Plus my brother picked up his IS300 today, so it would of been rude not to have a little 1 on 1

Drove the IS200 on Saturday after about 2 weeks and omg I missed it! Drove it to work today and was a nice drive but back in the yaris again after today as dont really want to risk driving the IS anymore this winter.

I'd have thought LED's are far better as fog lights personally. As the fog lights are set up to be very directional i.e. send almost all the light directly backwards. And LEDs are very good at directional light spread. Plus they normally produce more lumens per watt than a filament bulb.
