i didn't hear any clicking noises from the relay in the PW slot when the window buttons were pressed, i need to test the live wire to the relay, will do that tomorrow. (thursday)

Hmm this is an odd one.

The fuse your linking to is the double locking fuse and is permanent 12v so that's why it works all the time.

The relay should come on with the ignition so that's when it should click.

It's now leaning towards a fault with the drivers window switch IMHO. As this provides the earth for the relay so if it turns out it doesn't click at all I'd try that.

Ps, does it look like anything else has been tampered with in either fuse box or the drivers door? Ie is the drivers switch wrapped so it's been removed before?

I will check all the fuses in the drivers side compartment today and will see if the relay clicks when the ignition is turned on, don't suppose anyone knows the wiring pin-outs for the drivers door switches on the blue plug?

It's the pwl wire that should go to earth to turn the relay on.

daveb948576 The PW relay is not clicking when the ignition is switched on.

Right well I assume it's getting power as its from the gauge fuse and the speedo wouldn't be working without that fuse. Can only assume either that relay is knackered, or the switch is knackered,or something I between.

You could turn the ignition on, disconnect the blue plug on the drivers switch and ground the 'pwl' wire see if that turns the relay on. If it does its the switch, if not then test for voltage at the relay tocheck that,
Also check the relay, if all that works then its wiring.

The thing is with adding the wire to bridge the two fuses together then it works, so adding 12volts to the power windows then everything works, the windows go up and down meaning its not a problem with the earthing side of things? I'll get the multimeter on it when I get home and check the owl wire, thanks for your help guys <3 you both!! Wink

Not quite. The relay supplies power from the battery's to the fuses. The drivers switch earths that relay to turn it on.
The fuses are after the relay.
