Well wasn't really too sure where to put this, but here seems as good a place as any.

This is my other Jap toy I've got. Its a 1998 Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird. Named after the lockheed sr71 due to it being (when launched) the world's fastest road legal production bike Smile

Still pretty standard at the moment, although since the pics its had a race exhaust system fitted along with K&N air and oil filters and a stage1 dynojet kit. Need to find the time now to get it on a dyno and setup correctly.

Yeah I know what you mean with the weather. Still gets used all year round though providing its not raining/snowing.

About 7 years ago I had a Suzuki Bandit 1200 that I had a mild tune up on, that was my main vehicle, and I had a scooter for the really better weather, I do miss the bikes though

Well decided to give the 'bird a little bit of tlc today, being it was feeling left out after all the bits the lexus has had done :lol:

I've now got the new iridium plugs and K&N air filter fitted. Only a couple pics of the bike in various states of strip down.

Seat and tank off:

Changed the plugs over, though the old ones didn't look too bad and probably still had loads of life left in them, I still fitted the iridiums. Got the airbox back on and put the K&N in. Then got the airbox bolted back up and got the tank back on and fuel lines plumbed in again. Gave it a fire up, it coughed and spluttered for a couple seconds then cut out and wouldn't start again. Took a good ten mins of head scratching to try and work out what was wrong with it, then I remembered I hadn't turned the fuel tap back on :Fish: Off came the tank again, turned the fuel tap on and got the tank back in position. Gave it another fire up, this time it roared into life Smile

Sounds a bit louder (always a good thing where me and bikes are concerned) and seems to rev up more freely. Just need to finish putting the remaining bits of trim/panels back on tomorrow, then take it out for a quick blast and see if its improved it any. Then once I've got confirmation my mate is available he will be doing the oil change and fitting the heated grips for me. Then it will be time to get it upto the dyno and see what its putting out and what tweaks and improvements can be had.

I gained 10bhp by doing that and putting on the dyno, they also changed the jets, that was on a Bandit 1200, at a later stage replaced plugs with iridium, and they made the bike fire up straight away as well as being more responsive, I was told they are used for longevity, but I certainly felt a difference, unless it was in my head?
