FirebirdPhil I did unfortunately argue with a copper once, about a trivial matter, he called for clarification and his sargent came down inspected my car and prosecuted me for no water in the windscreen bottle. 3 points ans 30 quid fine...... Oops.

Moral of the story was if they can't get you for one thing they will find something else. I was 18 and knew no better - I do now. Take a piddle in the washer bottle.

or top up regularly so it never gets close to running out Confusedmoke:

i cant really answer the original post as i did buy alloys that had the same problem. i didnt even drop the car down and took it off then swapped them for alloys that did fit my arches. i know stretched tyres are all the rage now but what i dont know is why. i just dont get why they are so popular

I think the easiest thing to is not push our luck. Far buy having wheel which blatantly stick out past the arch and try and covert up with stupidly steered Tyres. The bottom line is no one likes a smart **** especially coppers, ho particular hate people who they knw the law better them. A little bit of humility will get you a very long way.

I got done not that long ago when mine were like that about the same distance only got a £30 fine but he said the law it's something like 20mm but then I'm guessing most police would say different things as not many of them know all the laws correctly

So your tuckin 15's, that's cute but come back to me when you get some proper size wheels
