Well she passed the mot with flying colours Smile love this car, so all happy I set off from the mot station and the speedo converter packed up so its now saying kph instead of mph but not too fussed ill sort it out soon
As she done so well apart from the speedo that is I decided to paint my interior panels as they were a bit damaged and scratched I went for a nice blue to compliment the grey, I'm gonna get the carbon lay overs when I can afford to so for now the blue will do nicely, I also re did the engine cover as I'm going to be doing all of it blue soon so no more red as I've never really been a fan of red unless its candy lol
Anyway here's the pics

I would love to see if that rocker cover dress up piece the part you've sprayed blue csn be modified to fit the 1GFE engine with a bit of fiber glass magic... one more project to add to the list...
Or perhaps just to make one from scratch using fiber glass?

You can buy them for about £30 I think I'm sure you could make it fit if you tried as they do look alot nicer than the normal one on the 1g-fe

Aint that the truth... I'm really quite surprised Toyota/Lexus didn't spend more time on this engine especially when the rest of the car is so good, its almost like they did the bare essentials thinking that none of the people that baught the cars would peek under the bonnet, i mean look at how bad the quality is of the plastic they use on the current dress up kit, mine has become all brittle and most of the pieces have all broken and been thrown away but the JZ engines are a work of art.. so clean and pretty in the layout as well.

Have Toyota or even Lexus ever built a really good engine bay?

totally worn out and broken, shouting 'Holy ****, WHAT A RIDE!'"

Well they've never been really clean and tidy but i think the JZengine are good looking Even the 1GGTE engine was good looking and symetrical even the way the induction and intercooler pipe went
or at least thats my opinion
