I bought a vacuum bypass a while ago now and I am having problems, when I go to apply the throttle it cuts out, like limp mode but with no eml. The car coughs and splutters like when the traction control kicks in.
When I first had it fitted it worked ok for about 100 miles then the problems started. The person I bought it of said just install it and away you go,when it was working it was great got all the boost as soon as I slam the throttle.
I'm currently running 160mm pulley with emanage .
Thanks,

sounds like the diaphragm has split in the vacuum bypass, so its not shutting the bypass valve

I replaced the original actuator which split yesterday with one of the ones I got of you, but I'm still having the same problem,at very low revs I can drive it but as soon as I apply a bit to much throttle it cuts out.
On my original set up with 130mm pulley and the FCD it was working fine for an hour then this started.thought it was FCD but replaced with one of Patricks black boxes but the same problem.
The only other thing it could be is it needs remapping but the person I got it from said tee the vacuum pipe where you would a boost gauge and away you go.
It's starting to drive me mad.:cursing:

Are you running larger injectors or have you simply used a larger pulley and emanage? Has the emanage been mapped?

Using larger injectors 320cc and emanage has been remapped recently but not to run with vacuum bypass, if I had a eml at least I would know where to start looking

Did you test the new actuator before you fitted it?

They looked and sounded allright, they were drawing and keeping vacuum.
I know that these actuators have a two year/30 000m or so lifespan. I've just ordered a new one but I don't think it will make a difference.

You bought it from me dan but i didnt have any contact from you that you are or were having problems.

I ran exactly the same model on my car for years without any problems including foot to the floor abuse. A racing company here also runs them on an is200 without issues.

It does change the pressure delivery so if your car is not standard I suggest you look at your software/mapping.

Hi rob, it worked for about 200 miles perfectly, then it started playing up, running emanage ultimate at the moment , still same problem. Didn't think you were about so I didn't bother to contact you. I think it might be an Ecu fault.

Double check the plug in the nipple of the bypass is still intact/tight. If not you need to cap the nipple. Use a torch and you will see what I mean.
