1991 Mazda 323f BG GT
1991 Mazda 323f BG GT
After 6 years since I last owned one of these and saying I wont ever own another, I find myself the proud owner of another BG GT!!
Its been a long time coming and i was never really over the loss of my baby, and since then, I have been trying to fill the void with a manor of all sorts of cars. from the super vr4 to a vw golf and a few others in between, including a few BAs and a Lantis type R.
But non of these ever came close to the love that I hold for the BG GT
For the people that knew me back then when i had an army of BGs will know that the road wasnt always smooth and at times was a love hate relationship, but through all that, I ploughed on, digging my heels in all the way.
This one has a bit of a twisted tail so far, with ups and downs and fallings out.
im not going into all details but things that was agreed on the sale didnt go to plan and the biggest insult was that i was never told about the accident damage on the car.
this has boiled my blood a lot, but nothing a body shop cant solve.
To top all of this, getting it home was a 48 hour adventure too!
Thanks to Rob for going up in the knackered rental truck to collect it, he had his "fun" (if you wanna call it that) which resulted in the brake down truck with bug on the back, going on to a brake down tuck,
but it wasnt, (again this is details that wont be aired) due to the truck he was in decided that the duel mass fly wheel wanted to become a multi mass fly wheel and take out the slave cylinder and bell housing.
but at last all was sorted and trade plates given to get bug home to me
(I forgot just how nice it was to drive one of these beasts!)
but before I drove the car i checked the oil.....
hummmm, what oil!!
not happy, but oil was chucked in, once the rain has buggered off, I will do a good inspection of the engine and give it a good service.
on the drive home from stonehouse, i needed to stop for fuel, but no less then a mile away from the petrol station, Bug konked out thus bringing back memories of when i first drove KITT, she too konked out a mile away from the petrol station.
i see this as a good sign and just laugh
once at the pumps the kiddy serving asked what car it was thinking it was a Lancia. i just laughed and corrected him.
once some petrol was in and paid for, i set of on the drive back home.
and iv not stopped smiling since
A sight I have missed so much!
And the "key" to happiness
There are a few things i need to do to the car first, but this list at the mo, isnt too bad or big.
then all i plan to do is lower her, new exhaust, for a quiet one. tint windows and lights and have my TSW venoms re furbed and fitted.
shes an old lady now and done are the days of the big flash body kits.... i might be tempted, but we will see.
happy days
interesting first few days lol!
Thing is I have been waiting since October for this car.
But have been filled with fob offs and lies.
Well shes now back in the hands of someone who will give the upmost love and care she needs.
And the best thing is I know the past 4 owners and have worked on her in the past
Let the good times roll 8)
Great cars are these.
I had the hatchback version a few years ago and loved it.
If it hadn't been for getting a company van I'd if kept it.
Your starting a museum? Lol
