Little write up on the evolution of my car
Little write up on the evolution of my car
Another years MOT successfully gained!
Also began sorting some of the wiring out to properly set up the water/meth injection and nitrous control.
Still got the hot start issue, so I need to look at that.
Also got some quick bleed brake nipples so need to fit them and refresh the brake fluid.
You must be well pleased having it back on the road mate !!!
Just please Oh please don't break it this time
I wouldn't. I have a ballpark idea but I'd never want to write it down. And the wife I'm sure would kill me.
Bit then I've saved thousands with the work I do myself.
Well I've been running the car in Gently. Took it up to Scotland with work and back the week before last.
Stuck to 70-80 for the whole journey and she didn't miss a beat, but down on power.
Then went to japshow this weekend and exactly the same, all spot on cruising but just doesn't have the power it should so will need a remap.
Met a new mapper my friend highly recommends this weekend, and he's agreed to map the car for me in a couple of weeks. Just need to find some cheap rear wheels as he reckons we'll hammer them on the rolling road.
Before the mapping though I had a leaking rear oil seal to change. She's been fine for the two long journeys but just an annoying dripping. I refuse to take the engine back out so decided to do it by removing the gearbox.
Now you should know by now I do all the work my self in my garage so had the car on axle stands, unbolted the gearbox, the basically bench pressed the gearbox off and on with me underneath it lay on my creeper. Not easy but job done in about 6 hours total by myself.
Oh and I revealed my new bumper at japshow, once again made myself from a tte bumper:
Cheers mate! Wasn't sure if you could use your bits 'out of hours' so to speak. But it's done now, just to road test tomorrow and check for leaks when I get home.
