Little write up on the evolution of my car
Little write up on the evolution of my car
your car has always been 'top of my list' and the inspiration for my lex,now with that front end its just gone through the stratosphere. Fk the naysayers mate it looks awsome (thought i was the only freak who liked the new IS front ends) going off opinion on the forums. Just dont drive to close to the pavement of bushes otherwise you might suck all the small furry creaturs out:biggrin: Anyway totaly original 1 of a kind.
Now wheres my junior hacksaw:blink:
Cheers for the feedback mate, yeah I love the front end. It's so different. And practical for me
do love the look stav... the fresh paint looks loads better, just needs cutting back to get the shine
Well October has ended and so has my tax on the Lexus.
This winter however is a little different.
Apart from fitting a thicker metal headgasket, all the jobs I plan will mean the car can be back and running in a day most.
No way am I missing show season this year!
But once again I've got a decent list of bits to do, but mainly to tidy the car up rather than anything new and radical.
Oh there is, just not big stuff this year, though maybe a few new trick additions!
Stav your car is the coolest car on the forum.
And the best build thread out there
Cheers both, there's a lot of nice heavily modified cars appearing on the forum though!
Kouki monsters for example!
Suppose I haven't update this for a little while.
We'll show season is upon so as usual I've got a mad dash putting everything together.
This year I removed the abs from the car, I was pretty sure it wasn't working anyway as it's not getting most of the signals it needs and it looked ugly in the engine bay.
So out came the engine so I could tidy that area up and respray the engine bay
Whilst the engine was out I took the opportunity to replace the headgasket with the original thicker composite one. Ideally I'd have found a thicker MLS one but I couldn't find one, or get one custom made without costing the earth. So the composite has gone back, and with correct torquing it should hold.
I also sent my chargespeed wings off to get widened by 10mm, this will allow me to lower the front end so the car no longer rakes backwards.
They got back today so need to spray them now.
Also made an impulse buy the other day:
Nice Siebon carbon bonnet. It's got a couple of small cracks and the lacquer had clouded, so I got my mate to flat it and polish it, with the aim being to spray it blue, lightly so you can still see the weave in the future, we just need to practice that first.
Also treated myself to a new stereo, after selling the old one, I didn't realise that have the outputs were knackered so refunded the buyer, took it apart and its goosed! Stuck with alpine and got one with Bluetooth built in now.
That's about it for this winter, few other tidy up jobs.
Fitted a GS300 cruise control motor to my exhaust valve to make that easier to operate, also fitted a vibratechnics gearbox mount.
Anyway, the car is now pretty much ready to go, just need to spray the wings, and then as soon as he can fit me in, get the car remapped again with the new compression ratio and get my power back.
