Little write up on the evolution of my car
Little write up on the evolution of my car
With adapters that ive designed yes
They have improved it massively, great stopping power, I've not had the need to stamp on them yet, but they feel solid in normal driving.
Those new brakes are the dogs danglees... Look brilliant and fit your car perfectly.
Would like to say thank you for the front setup on my supra... So much better than J spec's
Realised I hadn't updated this for a month or so and there's been some changes......
Well after upgrading the rear brakes I needed to improve the fronts as well. I used to have supra Mkiv 4 pot calipers and I genuinely couldn't fault them for looks or effectiveness.
However I wanted a nice little project to get my teeth into so I fitted these:
Believe me not an easy task, but after a couple of weeks working away in the garage at night, I had a nice wooden template that I got made into a cad drawing and water jetted out to make my brackets to fit them.
I'm running ISF discs front and rear now, and the fronts needed an RCA spacer to get the steering arm out of the way.
With fitting the rca's I needed to adjust the coil overs, so after I did this I took it for alignment. Not good! No where near in and maxed out adjustment! Adjustable arms it is then!
But first I attended JAE with the club, another great year! And thanks to those that voted me best modified!
No the show season is over for me (wife is expecting any time now so Japshow finale was always out the window), it's time to start a few little winter jobs.
No huge overhaul as I will not have the time more than likely. So plans are, few bits of tidying up, few new little things to keep me happy, and repair and respray the rear arches that are a little stone chipped!
First job sort the dash wiring out, I did this a couple of years ago but I've added a few extras since then. And I wanted to completely remove the standard fuse box from the glove box as most of it is now defunct.
So it currently looks like this:
But it will look better when I've finished, I've stripped the wrapping off all the looms now and pulled this much wire out so far from just the passenger side that's now defunct:
And the new fuse box hidden away:
The wires will be cable tied and wrapped once all connections are in place.
As for the alignment, I decided I'd make my own rather than that buy some. So adjustable rear camber and toe arms are on their way!
Adjustable toe arms already done and awaiting fitting:
And I've started the camber arms, but no pics yet.
So there's the current update!
There was some camber arms on drift works for sale stav £120 delivered.
Great work on the breaks are the fronts Porsche also?
