My Black 202 Supra
My Black 202 Supra
Cheers all... It's a T70 compressor housing T68 exhaust housing... Same as a garret GT35.
The aim is to have it ready for Modified Nationals... But I'm starting to cut it close now...
Still a lot to be done... And now we've got this shitty weather coming over for the next 2 weeks I'm being slowed down again...
But hers some updates
The ignition system has been updated with new plugs, leads, distributor, rotor and new cap... Will be fitting a new ignitor before work is complete.
Im re positioning the IC lines as they were too low on first attempt and I don't want to keep blowing lines.
Quick mock up... Still not quite right but not far off now...
All has now been removed to drill the sump and fit the oil feed and return.
More work over the little bit if dry weather.
Started fitting the ally pulley set.
Removed the air con rad and piping... And removed the Charcoal canister to clean up the area... Haven't decided weather to re fit it or not.
More work on the oil feeds... As I'm not able to get the ally sump off and I'm not wanting to drill it out with the risk of killing off my engine... I'm going to remove the lower sump and fit a compression AN10 Fitting.
Also worked on the IC lines... The cool side note fits through the inner wing and I've ordered some new silicone joiners for the intake and the through wing piping.
And also fitted the new stainless steel strut tower rings I got off of Nick.
Good update mate! Though be careful the oil return should be above the sumo oil level
Cheers... She's getting there now... Not long until first start up
After doing a little more research and meeting up with Matt Wilson yesterday... I realised I needed even more parts...
I realised that the down pipe needs some work and I completely forgot about lambda sensors.
The exhaust system doesn't have a flexi at any part of the system... So I have purchased a new 100mm 3" flexi...
The lambda sensors stock are a one piece unit with a 2 hole bolt on unit.
The new down pipe has 16mm screw in lambda sensors holes. So I have ordered 2 new lambda sensors
Ive ordered up a silicone vacuum line kit off of BoostJunkies to tidy up the aged lines and new piping for the conversion.
And finally ordered up a T70 turbo blanket to help reduce heat transfer to the IC lines.
I also started to fit the new exhaust system as I needed space in the kitchen
Off with the old...
On with the new
Only to realise when I first took off the old system I cut off the exhaust rubbers ... So the new exhaust is held up with cable ties
There is a bracket under the car to protect the prop shaft and the gearbox, it needs to be modified due to the size of the pipe... So it will be removed, taken to work and cut up ready for the rest of the system to be fitted.
Whilst cleaning the bay, I noticed an oil leak on the back of the block, traced back to the back of the rocker covers... So Iver ordered up a pair of rocker gaskets.
And doing a bit of research in to coolant lines, I was advised to replace the engine to heater matrix pipes, as due to their age they become prone to splitting... So whilst I have the top of the engine out of the way, replace the 3 pipes.
Whilst the intake is off ill paint up the rocker covers and the intake, Y pipe and top intake plenum in hammered black... The engine bay Intercooler pipes and top engine bay plastics will be painted up in a nice metallic blue the IC pipes shown behind the bumper will be going gold to match the rest of the theme.
Some good work mate, can't wait to see it finished
Nor can I... It's a bit if a waiting game at the moment... Did a bulk buying session at the weekend... Just want the parts so I can continue with the build
