Well shiny new manifold fits, and I've test fitted the engine in the car and there's no clearance issues. But will need to remake the wastegate mount and downpipe.
New steering column is nearly finished and mounting is close.
Nearly finished machining the new block before it's honed and I can rebuild it.

Well where do I start.
This winter I have spent a ridiculous amount of money on new bits for the car-
New ecu
New throttle body
New turbo manifold
Lots of new fittings and connectors
Full engine rebuild so new seals, bearings, etc.
Then I decided a couple of weeks ago I wanted to finally take the plunge and get forged pistons as well.
So a fire sale ensued of my GTE spares (still one set of rods left btw) and I handed the money over to PerformanceUnlimited to pass to JE pistons.
Well today I got home from work to these!
Gorgeous! So tomorrow night I'll be finishing rebuilding the bottom end and fitting these. Then I'm awaiting my custom headgasket and my head back (I hate lapping valves so have got a local company to do it) and I can put the engine fully together.
Currently the engine looks like this:
Custom Performance dampened Pulley fitment can be seen at the front. It's no power steering pump! As my new power steering setup is finished:
The engine bay has been resprayed and rebuilt:
I've since bought a Remote oil filter kit to add to the bay, the fittings have cost me more than the kit, but it'll help with space around the block, and make changes easier
I've started making my new dash surround as well:
Obviously a bit of work left on that, but I'll also be fibreglassing/ filling my new centre dash section as I've simplified the heater system as I don't have half the climate control sensors any more.
The new manifold needed the wastegate pipe fitting, so I've welded that on and also got a slightly larger (2mm) wastegate; not because I needed it, but because it was a newer version, so a tad small overall, and it's '6boost' branded same as my manifold.
Finally I've been spending time on the wiring tidying the wires up, finishing the full install of the ecu, and moving my fuse box so it's a bit more accessible:
Will update more as the next couple of weeks go, nothing happening over the weekend though as it's the annual OJC mod/admin get together to prepare all the club equipment for another year of shows! Get tot the club shop now and get you ticket!
