I've got one of the little three legged ones Stevie

toxo Oh BTW, antilag in a WRC sense of the word doesn't mess around with timing, it spits fuel into the exhaust side of the turbo so it ignites there, thus still producing gas and spinning the turbine. Knackers your turbo really fast though (obviously, because its trying to set fire to it) so homologation cars have it disabled. The Celica GT4 WRC and Corolla WRC have an antilag manifold with extra pipework on it to feed air to the exhaust manifold for the fuel to burn, but it's blocked off on the road going cars. It's only really any good if you can afford to replace turbos every 1000 miles Smile

HTH

Now thats interesting info!
would love that lol

Go for the ceramic coated manifold mate. If possible inner and outer. it is a good mod. I will do the same on mine soon

As you may see from my list i had "find out cause of noise"

well basically id had a hollow grinding rotating noise for about 2 and a half months.
It was awful noise and so loud from 40mph upwards! me and my mate hated on the way to JAE but i had to be there!

Anyway i thought the noise was related to the turbos but when i changed then the noise was still there at exactly the same place.

Next idea was to change the dual mass flywheel. i changed it for a single mass one from a 1GGTE and the clutch,
the noise was still there!

so next i changed the gearbox for another, still there!

i was so annoyed and baffled. but the only thing left was the diff.
So last night i started taking the diff off, and after borrowing a couple of tools from work today to finish the job i got it off and took it apart.

This is what i found:

jammed in here:

Not sure where it came from yet but its def the cause of the problem!

unfortunately its also chipped the final drive gear, dont know if you can see in this pic, but the vanes are chipped:

Just need to figure out where the thing came from, get a new final drive gear and the problem should be sorted!
(the LSD and normal dif have the same one so should be hard to get one from a scrappy)

Also heres a pic of the LSD bit:

gonna fit new front drop links and maybe my adjustable cams while ive got it all up on axle stands at the mo,

On the down side, found a screw in my rear wheel so got to see if that can be repaired tomorrow as well.

Well done for finally tracking that down, must be a relief ! But what on earth is that ? Surely it must have come off somewhere else in the diff ? Would you just be better off fitting a whole new diff ? :confused1:

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
