i service my is every 3500 why coz its free!!diff and gear oil every second one ie 7000miles.i have a walk through on changing all oils,engine oil inc filter,gear oil,diff oil.does any one want me to post it up?

22-09-2017, 08:44 PM #13I have been told by garages that it is not good to change your gearbox oil frequently, hence the Lexus service schedule has only check levels ??

i've never had any problems and i''ve done this to a few of my cars matey.also if you think about it why's it not good??bet they wont give you a reason.

22-09-2017, 08:53 PM #15I was of the same opinion as changing oil seems to be good for the engine, why not the gearbox. I think they did say why at the time but can't remember now, will have to ask as annoying me now :confused1:
I dont think it had been changed before.
I will have the oil changed again next year just to make sure..
Air con did not need re-gassing so i ended up with a bill of £157 well pleased.
Cars has mot next month so hopefully it sorted for another year.
Mine really needed changing it was black and before some might say it normally reddish.

When my LS was in for a service in July at Lexus Woodford, I asked what the oil change intervals for the automatic gearbox and was told that none were specified. Could you let me know how much it costs as I would like mine done regardless of it's colour.

That would be great if you could. My gearbox feels absolutly fine but it's a peace of mind thing. I do like to change my engine oil every six months with fully synthetic engine oil for peace of mind so a gearbox oil change would make me feel even better.

They can normally lend you a car they only charge around a fiver a day just to cover the insurance.
