Finally got a chance to carefully check over my HIDs this afternoon and all the wiring looks solid so I'm confident the right ballast has died. Need to buy a new HID kit now as you feel blind with halogen headlights after using HIDs for so long!

2 questions really:

1. Where should I buy from? HIDs Direct was mentioned in my earlier thread, are they the safest option?

2. Going to get a 4300K kit this time, should I buy a 35W or 50W kit? Like the idea of 50W, but wondering whether the extra brightness may cause problems with the police, etc?

Yeah that's what I'm not sure about, I like the idea of them being really bright, but as I haven't got projectors I don't want to get pulled over for them

Marsdendean I got mine from HIDS 4 you.

I didnt fancy the ones from ebay, so stuck with a decent company. I have 5000k 35 watts, as people said the 6000k look better but 4300k give more light - so i went inbetween!!
Cool, have they been reliable? They're a fair bit more expensive than HIDs Direct but I don't mind if they're actually better?

Actually one thing I just noticed is that HIDs4u have two types, one for projectors, and one for reflectors which supposedly reduce the glare.

Anyone tried these? Does it actually make any difference?

Marsdendean One question i have, is i have 5000k bulbs, can i get different bulbs IE 6000k or do i have to change the ballast?
Nope you can just swap the bulbs, no need to change the ballasts.

Cheers for that, definitely a good price, but interested in these reduced glare bulbs for cars with reflectors instead of projectors now.........will email them to see what it's all about first.

Please let me know if anyone does have those "R" bulbs Smile

Good stuff mate, I'll try to find out more about the reflector bulbs but if I'm not convinced I'll go with HIDs direct Smile
