Was out earlier today checking my HIDs, had the bonnet open, swapped the bulb over and then opened the drivers door and turned the lights on.

When I did this, I heard the locks click (I assume it went lock-unlock) and didn't think anything of it. I put the key in and turned the ignition on (which opened out my mirrors) to check that didn't make a difference, then turned the car off and swapped in the other bulb.

Then did the same again (car still off) opened the door and turned the lights on, and it did it again! Locks clicked, and this time as the mirrors were open, the mirrors also folded back in again!

This has really baffled me, partly because I couldn't make it do it again after, and also that I thought the mirror closure worked off the keyfob rather than the central locking so why did the car think it was being locked with the fob?

Also as the door was open the fob wouldn't normally work, and the indicators didn't flash so it didn't actually get a trigger from the remote.

Any ideas? I'm guessing it's nothing really to worry about (I hope), but just a little confusing!

sounds like your gettin a feedback from the HID's.

Wozza had something similar, everytime he put full beam on the mirror closure worked.

Did you install a diode inline with the power for the mirror closure system?

It's never happened before though, although I've never turned the lights off like that with the car off - would there be a difference to the car being on or off?

Not sure about the diode, I didn't fit the closure myself, Fargo (from LOC) did it - as a guess I'd say no as I don't remember there being one in the kit and I didn't buy one.

if there is a diode the wrong way round it would cause this or if the diode is breaking down it would have no effect.
