Car needed for a few weeks
Car needed for a few weeks
ok folks, as I've said in my project thread, my car is now booked in for its turbo conversion  at the end of the month. I need some sort of transport while it's in though. They've given me an estimate of 2 weeks for the work, but I'm going to think 3-4 weeks in my own mind, to allow for the inevitable problem(s) that will crop up.
My initial idea is to find a cheapish car off eBay (£500-£1000 ?) to buy, with MoT and tax, to run for a few weeks, and then sell again hopefully at the same price.
I've already started looking on Pistonheads. Of course there's eBay too.
Anyone else have any bright ideas ? I mean not just where to look, but any other plans I should think about ?
Take busses and taxis everywhere that might just be a cheep
Try the local main car dealers for PX's, they let them go cheaply sometimes.
Thanks guys, keep the ideas coming.
Any thoughts on these motors ?
Car 1
Car 2
Car 3
Car 4
Car 3 mate.
With winter coming along the mazda will be cold (and a mare to drive in snow/ice), the GTR is OK but not that nice and the Honda is going to need some body repair and therefore will be harder to sell later.
Just mp 2p though. I have a Boxter for sale £8.5K?????????? 2K off book price.......
Gord I think you would be better off with small car, ford, vw polo, or something like that, when you come to sell it after you done, it make it easy to sell on, the cars you have listed would be hard to sell on afterwards IMHO

I'm with gord as well.
a solid reliable car that you can get your money back for, rather than something that could break,
Boo ! You guys are no fun ! :Chair:
Seriously though, I appreciate the input
