But my ballast is the big one...hence the reason why i dont think a sticky tape will hold it on the side and i have to put it on top rather than the side... the thing weighs a ton! i also want to get the new headlight unit (the black post 01) ones! i think they will look more slick..dunno the price though! sorry to be hijackin thread ill shutup now!
Sticky tape won't be enough, but strong sticky pads will do the job. My ballast is a big one too. You can get strong sticky pads that are designed for outdoors use from stationery shops or DIY stores.
Yep the sticky pads work fine, I've got them on my car with my current ballasts and they are both fine - hope they'll come off easily actually as my new kit arrived yesterday!
HIDs looking good, yep definitely one of the best mods you can do!
Great mod Hid's, still have the set off my lex sitting here with an option of 6000k or 8000k bulbs, it a shame there not the right ones for the Skyline!
I polished my slim ballasts and used VHB tape to stick them to the body work, which worked very well and took me ages to get off again
They look quite smart polished
.
Is that a proper Philips kit? That must have set you back a bit?
Not 100% sure mate, the bulbs are Phillips but nothing on the ballasts to say they are? but the kit works a lot better than the old one that i had off ebay,
The old kit i had seemed to take ages to get to proper temp, this set is quite instant
Mine seems to get to the proper temp quickly- I suspect I have the same ballasts as Bandit? From Bandit's pic they look similar.
You can get proper Philips kits from the far east, but they're usually around £4-500.
