Earlier this summer a dream of mine came true, I got the opportunity to drive eight different sports cars during a day on twisting country roads, wide highways and finally an empty airfield

My girlfriend snapped a few pictures while I was driving and I took the rest of them.

Serious metal and carbon there. I would love to go on a day like that.
I assume you got to open up the throttle a fair bit then, which was the best to drive????

Thank you mate. I've got a Nikon D80 and the lenses I used for these photos are the Sigma 10-20mm and the Nikkor 55-200mm VR Smile

Marsdendean Can i ask how much this day cost you (if you dont mind me asking) and was this in Sweden?

Thanks
It was in Sweden, not far from my home actually. A limo picked me and a few other car enthusiasts up and took us to where all the cars were waiting. Then we took turns driving all the cars for two hours until we arrived at the airfield where we could play around on both a small course and the runway Smile

The event initially cost me £350 but in the end my pictures paid for all of it, plus I'm now scheduled for a test drive in the new Ferrari 458 Italia next summer :tongue_smilie:

Thank you mate  My face was almost cramping from all the grinning. In fact, in the picture of me in the F430 I really struggled to not look like an idiot :tongue_smilie: The whole day I was afraid I would hate my own car when driving it the next time, but I guess I was so sure my car would feel boring that I actually were surprised when I finally got to drive it again. It was sort of emotional when I realized my little IS200 won't dissapoint me.

I'm pretty sure there are events like this in The UK as well. I believe I read something about driving a Ferrari at Silverstone Circuit.

Both on the way to the airfield and on the runway we were allowed to drive really fast. The first thing I had to do was signing a paper that said I had to pay for any speeding tickets I get during the day. I know it's irresponsible to break the traffic laws, but that day I didn't really care that much. I was an early saturday morning and there were very few cars on the roads.

On the way to the airfield I hit 260km/h (162mph) in the Ferrari 599 GTB Blush

Once we got to the airfield and the runway we got to drive as fast as we possibly could, one car at a time. Cones were placed so that we knew where to start braking to make sure we wouldn't end up in a tree or something.

Dan_Turism0 awesome pics patrik, which was the fave?
I'm not entirely sure which one was my favorite, but the most insane car was without doubt the Porsche 997 GT2. 530hp, rear wheel drive and a manual gearbox was seriously scary to drive. The sound from the Ferrari V12 in the 599 GTB Fiorano was the most lovely, thogh.

The most disappointing car of the day was actually the Audi R8. It felt too civilized and tame, like a really fast and quiet saloon. I've driven the Audi S8 V10 before and that wasn't very different. Of course, you would probably see the difference if you take the car to a proper race track.
