I spoke to my insurers (Sky), and they said they will charge me £40 for swapping to another temporary car and back again, so I'll almost certainly go with that, sounds ok to me.

Thats not too bad Steve, for swapping over the insurance for a short period of time!

Quite like the Fiesta's, i've had most of the models now and found the 1.25, 1.3 and the 1.4 really flat in the power department, the 1.6 and the 1.8 are not bad motors, the 1.8 diesels are pretty good and can be picked up quite cheep now? But think anything with a small motor will be a lot easier to sell on when the time comes :thumbup1:

Have seen a couple of cars, a Fiesta and also a Nissan Micra. Both were no good though (Fiesta was a rust-bucket and the Micra hadn't been well looked after).

Now thinking of maybe just not having a car for a few weeks ? :confused1:

Marsdendean can you afford to keep two cars, as if you can, why not get something jap and tidy it up over a year or so?

Good idea, and it could be fun, but I can't really justify it, especially given how much I've spent on bits for my turbo conversion. Also space is at a real premium here, I don't even have a driveway so having a second car would be even worse in that respect (i.e. finding the space).

Right, all the car stuff was stressing me out so I've hired one now. I can always change my mind and take it back early if I want to, or similarly extend it.

Ouch!! on the wallet. But at least it will be reliable and you won't look like a pauper driving around in a rust bucket:wink:
