I've been trying to figure out what to do, spoke to some companies who regas struts and they said it would be around £40-50 but they don't know if they can do it until they see it. Also found one company that can get hold of actual Stabilus replacements, but they were over £100.
Seeing as RS and stuff sell struts, could I just buy a pair from them and replace the ones I've got? And if so, does anyone know which ones I'd need to get (there seem to be a number of different dimensions involved)

As some of you may know I have a pair of bonnet struts that I bought second hand (big mistake as it appears) and unfortunately both struts are pretty much dead and can't hold the bonnet up.
I've been trying to figure out what to do, spoke to some companies who regas struts and they said it would be around £40-50 but they don't know if they can do it until they see it. Also found one company that can get hold of actual Stabilus replacements, but they were over £100.

In any case he said they can get me some replacement struts for $60 including shipping to the UK which seems like a very reasonable price so think I'll just go with that

Been in touch with Mike @ Figs, and he came up with the very sensible idea that maybe I have a kit for a carbon bonnet.........does anyone know if Ellz (over the other side) had a carbon bonnet?

My bonnet struts are perfect for my seibon cf bonnet, but they are way too weak to hold my standard one.

Ok the new struts have arrived, forgot to ask this before I ordered them but they've not got the ball joint bolt thingy at each end. Is it easy to remove them from the other set of struts and insert them into these?
