30-10-2016, 07:43 AM #23imo, I've been using Avira Free for a while now and it's amazing one of the best anti-virus' on the market today (including paid software such as norton, mcaffee etc), aswell as malware-bytes. Then I run scans of Hijack this from time to time to check for anything hidden

incidentally, google chrome browser avgfree and spybot does my desktop fine..

Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

02-11-2016, 12:35 AM #28I reinstalled XP and all is fine again, thank goodness. I've been using AVG Free but have been getting a bit fed up with it being slow, so I'm going to give Avira Free a go this time.

Is it providing as effective protection still? Haven't actually had a problem of my machine running slow, but might swap over to Avira if it's better
