Parrot Kit question
Parrot Kit question
Guys,
I want to get a Parrot bluetooth kit installed in my is200se with satnav. Was wondering do i need to have a speaker installed for the sound to come through or is it possible to have to sound come through the speakers already in the car. As the SE has an amp will going through the speakers be ok?
Cheers
Roheel
You won't need an additional speaker, you can get it to work through the car's speakers as many have done. If you use the Autoleads mute cable (06-913B off the top of my head but check that out before you buy) then it's all pretty much plug and play. I had to do a bit of cutting and soldering as the autoleads cable has a nokia plug on the end (no idea why).
Which Parrot kit are you thinking of getting?
Don't know a lot about the Parrot kits to be honest, but the 3200 does look a lot nicer than the 3100 if there isn't a lot in it cost wise. Obviously the 9200 is awesome but must cost a lot more.
Just checked it's definitely the 06-913B from autoleads - this basically plugs in between the loom and the amp to mute the stereo and route the phone audio through the front speakers when a call comes in. I'm not sure what kind of plug comes on the end of a Parrot kit, but I'm guessing it's not a nokia one so you'll probably need to do the same wiring I did.
The wires on the autoleads cable are as follows:
Yellow: Mute
Blue: Ignition sense
Red: +12V
Black: Ground
Audio jack:
Black with white stripe: loudspeaker +
Black: loudspeaker –
