Swiss Alps Trip 2010
Swiss Alps Trip 2010
Have you book a holiday why not do a great drive in August 13th -16th 2010
This will not be a cheap trip because of the petrol and hotel costs but I promise it will be a very worthwhile trip for all that can take part.
Too reduce the cost either members should look at bring other family members with them or share the drive with other club members or friends.
Here is a rough idea of what the agenda may be:
Leaving the UK around 2.30am morning on the 13th August traveling DIRECT to Switzerland.
This will take around 12 hours driving at responsible speeds with breaks.
Friday evening booking into a hotel in Zug Small area near Zurich .
Enjoying a day & night in Zurich at everyones leisure
Sunday Morning meeting with Supergoose and maybe Rob who will take us on a six hour tour of the Alps
We would then set of to Sustenpass then the Grimsepass and finally the Furka pass these are very impressive drives (so bring the cameras and videos).
Supergoose is currently looking at one or two other routes as well.
This drive will take around five to six hours stopping on our way for lunch.
Then after the drive you would then be free to return home or stay on in Switzerland continue with your holiday or going onto the Nurgburgring before returning home. Nurburgring is 4 hours away in Germany.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Hotels £190 for double room with two sharing for three nights
The Ibis breakfast is an 'all-you-can-eat buffet' served between 6.30 and 10 am, combining all the elements of a traditional continental breakfast.
Petrol I would RECOMMEND on working on 800 -1000 miles each way (from London - Zurich) allowing for some extra drives.
Remember Food and Crossings and a tax to drive the roads in Switzerland called the Vignette costing around £20.
You will also need to count for toll fee on the French Roads
No one under the age of 18 is premitted to drive in Switzerland.
If anyone wants to share the driving with other members please make a new thread asking for this.
All booking need to be made and paid for by each member directly.
