ill see if i can get some vignettes from work as we normally have some sitting about., the current cost is 40CHF. If you are coming in on the motorway network then you have no choice but to get a vignette. If coming in on a more rural or village road then you will not be stopped for this. It is better to have a vignette as it is known for the police to check cars departing motorway stations and also to have random motorway road blocks/checks. If caught without a vignette the minimum fine is 100chf plus the cost of the vignete.
NOTE: the vignette is only for driving on the highway(motorway), you do not need one to drive on the normal roads.
Do we not think its to early to decide on dates yet ??
I for one dont mind what dates we go but for other members these dates might not suit.
I know the earlier we book the better, but think we need to discuss the dates a bit more.
And also I want this trip to include going to the Ring for three or four days

Moley I think you should read back through the post on the forum as we did post up what dates people could make and what dates they could not make.
With other events like JAE Jap show etc: and some of our members getting married this year it was not going to be easy to choose a date.
Plus we needed to keep cost down as not all members can afford the Alps and Ring as one trip, but anyone that wants to add the ring to their trip should go ahead and book this as well.
For most this was going to make this a very difficult trip to book as some members would want a day racing at the ring while other may want four days, plus added to the ring trip this took this out of the reach in costs for most members.
Please also keep in mind that we needed Rob or Supergoose (or both)to help with showing the members the Route, Rob was busy around this date, but he will look to see if he can join us.
Supergoose is possible free for this time but not availble earlier in the Summer due to work commitments.
So this was not a easy choice to make, i hope this helps you understand why these dates were put forward.
If anyone wants to start a thread with who wants to go onto the ring after then this is still a possible.
Rob Thanks for the possible help with the vignette:wink:
no worries, ill see what i can do!
to be honest the whole area is very very nice and you cant go wrong with any of the roads in that area, i prefer the furka pass and susten pass TBH. even if us locals cant make it i would still go along, its a great time of year and the area is very very easy to navigate.
as a side trip i would recommend visiting lauterbrunnen and going to the waterfalls inside the mountain...
