The joystick control sounds like a great idea mate :thumbup1: Shame about the bolts breaking off, as i know there a pain in the ass to drill out, unless you have it on a lift? sounds like a top job though mate :thumbup1:
And we need pic's

Sparkystav well te bit the bolts have snapped off can be removed itself so taken that off as well not to take to work to put on the pillar drill

steviewevie What sheared off exactly ? The bolts holding on the OEM braces that you removed to fit the new rear brace ? So it's not too bad, you just need new bolts ?

That's a stroke of luck with the cruise control arm. IIRC there are only really 4 types of steering wheel remote, resistance varying, voltage varying, seperate microswitches and bus style control. There's a brand of adaptor for steering wheel remotes with aftermarket stereos which come in 2 parts - the appropriate loom for the stereo and then 1 of 4 boxes to adapt it to the correct kind of steering wheel remote from the list above.
Yeah you can buy alpine ones the same, but i was quite impressed to find the stereo i have has the resistance varying one built in.
Well success this morning.
Nipped into work and got the bolts drilled out, borrowed some bolt and washers and went to fit them.
Fit like a glove, but as i suspected, making them flat and they wouldnt fit i dont think.
But heres some pics:
The front brace compared to the standard one:
The rear brace compared to the two brace strips that it replaces:
and the rear brace fitted:
Havent driven it hard or any significant distance yet but feels more sturdy and solid already!
