Both altezza engines have Beams on the top mate, one says beams 2000 on the airbox, and the 4 cylinder has it on the top of the rocker cover?

The "Beams" thing is confusing. What people normally mean by the Beams motor is the 4-cylinder 3S-GE engine, that's the Celica/MR2 engine that you mention, yes. The problem is that there's also the AS200 model that Bandit mention, with the same engine as the IS200, and on this model it says "Beams" on the engine cover, and that confuses a lot of people !
If you can see a pic of the engine bay then you can tell for sure, the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder bays look very different (e.g. intake manifold is on the driver's side on the 4-cyl but on the passenger side on the 6-cyl).

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

and a big thanx bandit for the heads up about the 6cylinder beams.
1 of the cars i was looking at clearly states 6cylinder but he is trying to make out that its 210bhp.
had i not enquired on here i wouldnt of known any different until later.
