Radiator hoses
Radiator hoses
Been doing lots of reading up on how to do this, and came across the fine tuning aspect of the timing belt.
Now I was hoping Ormi might be able to shed a bit of light on this. But if anyone has done this could they please help.
What am I lookin for when I re-fit the timing belt as regards the getting the cam shaft moving in time with crank. I did engineering at college but have only worked on bigger engines (engines the size of cars!). If anyone could talk me through the actual fine tuning or how to test the timing without having the engine back together it'd be great. :tongue_smilie:
It's all in the instructions in the guide that I linked up, you just need to install it all with the marks lined up, then you test-rotate the crank and make sure it's still all lined up.
Hmm.....well didn't go to plan!
Got car to pieces only to realise I didn't have a socket big enough for the crank bolt!
And although the weather was clear, it was ****** freezing! So I called it quits.
Have got the coolent hoses on, and inspected the timing belt, and its fine.
Was going to change the oil, but the oil filter is hidden, and was starting to get a bit tired. So left that for another (warmer) day.
Not sure where to go from here, I think with the belt being in good condition, I will save up and get the local garage to change it.
the socket you need is a 22mm go buy one and get it done!!!!!!!the cold is not an excuse!!and i did a walk through on changing the oil and filter!!get it done....:thumbup1:
