still no luck with igniter malfunction
still no luck with igniter malfunction
Been a while scince ive been on here!, been very busy and havent had much time to enjoy my IS but back on with it now and decided to look into the misfire problem again.
Scince picking my car up the TRC flashes and engine managment light stays on, Nobles beleived this was caused because it was on the dyno so i went away with it. but the car feels very under powered!. Fault codes showed that igniters where on the way out so replaced the whole set.
this hasnt solved the problem, just done a fault code reading on it now and got:
P0141 02 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2
P1300
P1305
P1310
P1320
P1325
Every cylinder has a misfire at some point except cylinder 4
a few things ive noticed on the car is on the throttle body facing towards the front of the vehicle there are two vacume hoses, the bottom one is connected up fine but the top one is missing? i cant see any hose to connect anywhere. any idea what this is? guessing something to do with fuel vapour posibly?
2nd of all it might not be relevant but just to make you aware the car had a new camshaft timing oil control valve fitted when at nobles. no idea if this may be a factor to consider or not.
3rd is that the plugs all have had the gap reduced
any input peeps? as i have no idea what to try next.
i know you have spent a shed load of cash on it already but what about trying SPC to see if they can work their magic on it to make the car the beast it deserves to be
i dont want to shed out more money on the car tbh, id rather get it all running sweet as im looking at upgrading to a bmw M5 at the end of the year just want to enjoy it for a few more months then sell it off to a buyer running how it should be.
Sounds exactly like what I am doing with mine (Getting it running perfectly and selling). Although mine will fund something else, not a car.
the top pipe goes from the vsv to the charcoal canister
the bottom one goes to the side of the throttle body

so i reckon it should still be there.
I'd check the wiring and the soldering carefully as the emanage intercepts them signals.
block the open breather pipe this could be your problem/or not helping bit of pipe with a screw in it will do....
i put a hose on it and blocked it with a screw in the end, still no luck.
feared that was coming up stav lol, had a breif look over it earlier but when it comes to wiring im no expert lol! does seem like investigating this is the best route to take though.
your heater malfunction is easy enough to sort though mate, its prob cause your missing an o2 sensor right?
you just need to take the wire from another 02 sensor heater and link it across thatll clear the alarm.
but yeah i'd really suggest the emanage is at fault,
i'd happily look at it for you but your a fair bit away from me.
just seems a bit odd as the car was all fine before it went away to be rebuilt, i cant see why the emanage would of been played with? yeah is a bit of a trip! haha! is there anything i should look out for inperticular? or is it just scope around and see?
You could pull the plug out and test for continuity between the input and output on the plug
